The town of Vathi is located in a horseshoe bay west of Platis Gialis and not too far from there. There is a winding road over the mountain. You can also get there by bus from Apollonia and Kamares. It is 15 kilometers from Kamares to Vathi and 10 from Apollonia.
Vathi is dominated by the Monastery of Archangel Taxiarchis with its distinctive double-domed church. The town has a great stone-paved promenade out towards the water and offers a fine sandy beach, several small taverns and cafes and cozy accommodation. At the back of the town towards the mountain we find an olive grove. The town is relatively small. Like Platis Gialos, Vathi has few tourists, and is a place where you can find peace and de-stress.
