Fisherman on Anafi island

“The only port on Anafi is called Agios Nikolaos, and this is where the ferry arrives. It is also a fishing harbor. A zigzagging path leads down to the port from Chora, the only town on Anafi. The path is about two kilometers long, and it takes around half an hour to walk down. It begins a short distance below the bakery, where you’ll find an almost unreadable sign pointing toward the harbor. This path, which is wide and paved with concrete, was the only road on the island when Ferdinand Finne visited Anafi in the 1970s (or perhaps a bit later) to gather material for his book Ringer i et hav. Otherwise, there were only donkey trails and worn footpaths. From the harbor, the path continues as a coastal road that ends at Zoodochos Pigi in the far east, at the foot of the monolith Kalamos.”
